Dr. Umut Selamet earned her medical degree from Istanbul University Istanbul Medical Faculty. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport Connecticut. She received her general Nephrology fellowship training at University of California San Diego. During her fellowship, she earned an Advanced Clinical Research Certificate through UCSD CREST Program. Dr. Selamet also completed Onco-Nephrology fellowship at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and subspecializes both at general and onco-nephrology. She joins UCLA Nephrology faculty for practicing at Palos Verdes Office. Her clinical interests include managing kidney problems that cancer patients face due to chemotherapy and cancer itself.
Dr Selamet is an active member of Women in Nephrology, and she is one of the leaders of ASN Women’s Health and Research Community.
