UCLA Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) Fellowship Program

Program Director:  Victor Nitti, M.D.
Associate Program Director:  Christopher Tarnay, M.D.

Overview

At UCLA we have a fully integrated Urology and Gynecology FPMRS Fellowship. Fellows from both Urology and Gynecology train side-by-side in the same program within the Center for Female Pelvic Medicine at UCLA. We believe this provides the most balanced, multi-disciplinary training in all areas of FPMRS. Our goals are to prepare our fellows for a bust clinical practice as well as train the future thought leaders in FPMRS in both Urology and Gynecology. At the completion of the program which includes clinical, research and other scholarly activity time, all fellows will have fulfilled the requirements for board certification in FPMRS by ABU or ABOG. Our clinical program includes evaluation and treatment of all FPMRS conditions in a high volume health care system with emphasis on individualized treatments for our patients. Female pelvic reconstructive surgery includes experience in vaginal, laparoscopic, robotic, and open approaches to common conditions such as vaginal prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, fistula repair, urethral reconstruction and complex lower urinary tract reconstruction and urinary diversion. There is also an emphasis on lower urinary tract dysfunction, both non-neurogenic and neurogenic, and complex urodynamic and videourodynamic testing. The program also features experience with our GI, colorectal, radiology, and physical therapy colleagues. The fellows research can focus on any area within FPMRS, with either a clinical or translational research.  We are currently accepting both Urology applicants for a two year position and Obstetrics and Gynecology applicants for a three year position.
