About the award: The Mark Foundation Emerging Leader Awards support innovative cancer research from the next generation of leaders. These grants are awarded to outstanding early career investigators to support high-impact, high-risk projects that are distinct from their current research portfolio. Applicants must be three to nine years from the start of an independent faculty research appointment as of December 31, 2021. The term is $250,000 per year for three years beginning January, 2022.

Amount of award: Award is $300,000 distributed over four years. Applicants must be conducting highly innovative cancer research. Appointments such as research assistant professor, adjunct assistant professor, assistant professor research track, visiting professor or instructor are not eligible. The Cancer Center can only nominate one candidate.

Amount of award: The V Foundation has announced their 2021 Scholar Award Program that will award $200,000 in two annual installments of $100,000 each.
