Vasculitis Research at UCLA

As one of the nation’s most prestigious academic medical centers, UCLA is at the forefront of vasculitis medical research. Many physicians on our vasculitis team are actively involved in clinical research to advance the care of patients with vasculitis. Our UCLA Vasculitis Program physicians have clinical and research interests in many diverse aspects of vasculitis including:

  • Development and testing of currently available and new outcome measures for use in clinical trials in patients with vasculitis.
  • Vasculitis Patient-Powered Research Network.
  • Use of ultrasonography in evaluation of large-vessel vasculitis (giant cell arteritis).
  • Study in collaboration with Cedars-Sinai and other centers evaluating presence of ANCA antibodies in first degree relatives of patients with ANCA vasculitis.
