  • Fracking & Health
Hydraulic fracturing (fracking), a technique used to extract oil and gas from deep within the earth, makes use of chemicals.  Some chemicals found around fracking sites may be linked to infertility, miscarriage, birth defects, breathing problems, and cancer, among other illnesses and conditions. A number of groups and individuals are calling for a moratorium on fracking (Senate Bill 1132) to conduct a study to fully assess the risks to public health associated with fracking.
