There is an emerging national consensus about the risks to reproductive health from environmental toxins. In 2013, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) issued a Joint Committee Opinion "Exposure to Toxic Environmental Agents". The report acknowledged evidence that environmental toxins are ubiquitous, and that environmental toxins can negatively affect health from preconception through adult life. ACOG and ASRM "join leading scientists and other clinical practitioners in calling for timely action to identify and reduce exposure to toxic environmental agents while addressing the consequences of such exposure." The Iris Cantor - UCLA Women's Health Education & Research Center is involved in promoting research, policy, and community advocacy in Los Angeles County focused on issues related to reproductive health and the environment.
