Honoring T. J. Simers
We invite you to make a donation to support the work of Dr. Noah Federman in honor of T.J. Simers (Link below) . T.J. once said that Noah was the first hero he ever met and he spent a lifetime covering sports stars like Kobe Bryant, Manny Ramirez, and John Elway.
T.J. believed no child should ever be sick. Over his lifetime, he found imaginative ways to raise funds for his hero’s work with pediatric cancer patients. He hosted a night with John Wooden and Vin Scully at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles with half the proceeds benefiting UCLA’s Children’s Hospital. A betting man, he made bets with the legends in LA sports – loser donating to the kids at UCLA hospital.
T.J. also teamed up with Ed Allred, Owner, President and CEO of Los Alamitos on the ownership of Kiddy Up (a racehorse named for the kids at UCLA) – T.J. owning 1%, or the nose, as he liked to say. The team donated a significant portion of Kiddy Up’s winnings to the kids and their doctor.
When T.J. was diagnosed with a glioblastoma – the most insidious brain tumor – Noah was there for him. With Noah’s help, our family was able to have a few more precious months with our hero. To Learn About Dr. Federman's work, please click here.
