Melinda Maggard Gibbons, MD, MSHS

Dr. Melinda Maggard Gibbons' research addresses quality of care for several surgical disorders (solid cancers and bariatric surgery). Much of her research is devoted to improving the quality of care for breast cancer patients and survivorship care in an underinsured population. Her diverse general surgery practice is based at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center (a public hospital of Los Angeles County Department of Health Services), and 50 percent of her clinical work involves caring for breast cancer patients. She also helps oversee JCCC's on-site Avon Cares for Life breast navigator program.
