Scientific Interests

Dr. Michael McNitt-Gray's research focuses on the use of X-ray Computed Tomography (CT) in the detection, diagnosis and staging of disease. The CT imaging physics studies include methods to assess and improve the image quality of CT images as well as methods to accurately assess the radiation dose from CT imaging. McNitt-Gray and his colleagues have been involved in the use of imaging in clinical trials and specifically quantitative imaging efforts. Some of their current projects involve investigating the effects of radiation dose reduction methods in CT on quantitative imaging.
