In his current studies, Dr. Krysan utilizes Next Generation Sequencing for: 1) identification of the mechanisms of early pathogenesis of lung cancer, specifically, on the role of somatic mutations in lung cancer initiation and progression and the mechanisms of immune response to tumor neoantigens, 2) analysis of gene expression variations and regulation of the immune microenvironment and epigenetic states in the context of lung cancer progression on a single cell level, and 3) identification of minimally invasive miRNA biomarkers for early detection of lung cancer.
