Scientific Interests
Dr. Baclig is a health services researcher and clinical instructor in genitourinary (GU) medical oncology at UCLA whose work focuses on cancer and aging, survivorship, and supportive care. Her research examines how cancer and its treatments accelerate aging processes, shape frailty trajectories, and contribute to financial and time toxicity in GU malignancies— particularly bladder and kidney cancers. Drawing on training in public health, qualitative methods, clinical trials, and large dataset analysis, Dr. Baclig studies how social, biologic, and treatment-related factors influence patient well-being across the cancer continuum. Ultimately, her goal is to develop evidence-based, patient-centered interventions that improve the experience and quality of life of those undergoing cancer care.
