Scientific Interests

Dr. Chong's primary interest is in the diagnosis and treatment of primary brain tumors, particularly glioblastoma. His background training is in molecular biology and biochemistry, and most recently tumor immunology/cancer cell signaling. Towards that end, he has a basic science interest in the development of EGFR signaling inhibitors. Dr. Chong's clinical practice also focuses on the development and implementation of novel therapeutics in human clinical trials (phase I, II, and III). The patient population includes low grade brain tumors, high grade brain tumors, as well as select tumor suppressor syndromes. These therapies include various treatment options including chemotherapy, immunotherapies, small molecule inhibitors, and various other emerging treatments.
