Are you eligible for lung cancer screening?

UCLA Radiology Lung Screening

Review our lung cancer screening guidelines and check your eligibility

According to guidelines, lung cancer screening is recommended for current and former smokers who:

  • Are 50–80 years old
  • Have at least a 20 pack year smoking history
  • Are currently smoking or have quit within the last 15 years
  • Have decided to participate in lung screening after undergoing shared decision making
    • All potential screening participants should discuss the benefits and risks of screening with a health care provider
    • Screening participants may also complete a shared decision making visit with their primary provider, pulmonologist or the UCLA Lung Screening Program.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, please reach out to your primary care physician about getting a lung screening referral.

Pack year calculator: Measure your smoking history
