Second Opinion Program for Cancer

UCLA Health and the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center is introducing a second opinion program for cancer, an exciting new cancer care option for patients in the United States.

If you have been diagnosed with cancer, you can receive a second opinion from UCLA Health’s physicians regarding your course of treatment. Cancer second opinions are offered by written correspondence and by video conferencing to those who reside in California. Patients who live in other states can also receive their second opinion by written correspondence and by video conferencing, though we are continuing to monitor regulations that may affect this in the future(*).

UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center’s second opinion for cancer provides you with access to our leading-edge care no matter where you live across the country.

For several years, UCLA Health’s International Services has offered this program around the world and now will also administer it for people in the United States. UCLA Health International Services will conduct an initial clinical evaluation to determine the appropriate cancer specialist for you.

For more information, contact International Services.

Note: This service is NOT intended for medical emergencies. If you have a medical emergency, please immediately call your local emergency service phone number, or go to your nearest hospital, emergency room, or urgent care clinic.

*Also, telehealth second opinion consults are not available for people living in Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Texas. We do welcome patients from these states to schedule an in-person clinic visit.
