Although childhood cancers are rare, leukemia and lymphomas comprise about 40% of the pediatric cancers. The Pediatric Leukemia & Lymphoma Program at UCLA is dedicated to the comprehensive care of children, adolescents and young adults with newly diagnosed and relapsed leukemias and lymphomas. Our multidisciplinary team approach, with pediatric oncologists, nurse care managers, social workers, and psychologists provide treatment not just to the patient, but also provide supportive care to the whole family.

As part of the NCI-designated UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Pediatric Leukemia/Lymphoma research program is committed to the discovery of novel therapies for leukemia and uncovering some of the origins in the development of normal blood cells and leukemia. As long-time members of the Children's Oncology Group, a national group of pediatric cancer specialists, we have actively participated in the conduct of important national clinical trials resulting in the improved overall survival of patients with leukemias and lymphomas. These pediatric trials have also resulted in better overall survival for adolescents and young adults with leukemias and lymphomas compared to patients treated on adult trials. We strive to provide access for our patients participation onto the newest and most advanced clinical trials for the treatment of leukemias and lymphomas.
