Emily Lefkowitz, PhD

Emily Lefkowitz, PhD, received her BA in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis (1997) and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University (2006). She completed her final year of clinical training, followed by a yearlong post-doctoral research fellowship, at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. Emily was then hired as an attending psychologist in the UCLA Eating Disorders Program at the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital. She currently has a private practice in Westwood. Her primary areas of specialty include eating, personality, and anxiety disorders.
Emily grew up in Philadelphia and Washington DC. She currently lives in Hermosa Beach with her husband, Ted Pascaru, and two children Anna (5) and Eli (3). They are a family of avid skiers and spend much time in Mammoth.
In November 2016, Emily lost her mother, Susan Lefkowitz, to cancer. Many people helped Susan, as well as her family, through her battle with this brutal disease. But in the dark, tumultuous ocean of illness and loss, Dr. Anne Coscarelli, through the Simms/Mann Center, often provided the only visible beacon they could see. All people battling and living with cancer should have the kind of care that the Simms/Mann Center made available to Susan and her family; throughout all of this, their souls were never left behind. Emily feels compelled to honor Susan’s memory by doing what she can for other families facing the life-altering effects of cancer and is honored to be a member of the Advisory Board.
