Helping you and your loved ones navigate your cancer journey
At the Simms Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology, our team is committed to caring for your mind, body and spirit. Our cancer programs, services and support are designed to complement the outstanding clinical care you receive at UCLA Health.
In partnership with UCLA, the Simms Mann Center was envisioned by Dr. Victoria Mann Simms and her husband, Ron Simms. When her father became ill, Dr. Simms, a trained psychotherapist, recognized the need for a care model that treats the whole person and their loved ones along their cancer journey. Her clinical experience compelled Dr. Simms and her family to conceive of a place where specialists could partner with the care team towards a common goal. They would work together to support the whole patient.
At the Simms Mann Center, compassionate specialists use their varied skills and expertise to optimize the physical, emotional and spiritual wellness of anyone touched by cancer. Read more about the story behind the Center.
Combining multiple modalities for holistic cancer support
Our integrative oncology experts understand and appreciate the connection between the mind and body. Most patients want to optimize their overall wellness when faced with the challenges that can accompany cancer. Patients and their family members, friends and caregivers often need information, guidance and support to address:
- Nutrition during and after cancer treatment
- Sleep issues that often occur along with cancer and treatment
- Psychological concerns and emotional well-being
- Logistical and financial matters related to a cancer diagnosis and treatment
Our multispecialty team knows that the best medicine combines multiple modalities. We work together to provide holistic care and promote partnerships between patients, loved ones and health care providers.
The Simms Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology is part of the UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the top cancer care institutions in the world. The Center is affiliated with the Division of Hematology/Oncology in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. We are also a member of the UCLA Collaborative Centers for Integrative Medicine (CCIM). Together, we provide evidence-based, multifaceted and compassionate cancer care and support.
