Rachel Gonzalez
Intern
Responsibilities
My responsibilities as a graduate social work intern include shadowing the clinicians on staff and receiving training on the various programs of the Simms Mann Center and how to provide evidence-based interventions to the patients. I will eventually be building up my caseload to provide my psychosocial support to the patients, and my ultimate goal in this year is to learn as much as I can and approach each patient with empathy and hold space for their journey.
Training and Professional Experience
I am currently a dual MPH/MSW student at UCLA and approaching my last year of my graduate career. I have had a variety of experiences in the field of public health and social work that include mostly community-based programs in health education and specifically working within family-systems in the contexts of schools and health clinics.
Personal Interests
I love art, fashion, and coffee! I love spending days grabbing coffee and thrift-shopping to find some really unique vintage pieces to wear. I'm an extrovert and I love having deep conversations with my friends and family about life, culture, art, and music.
