About

Dr. de St. Maurice is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Infectious Diseases and also holds a position at Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH) as the Unit Director for the Syndromic Surveillance and Community Outbreak Team. Prior to joining LACDPH, Annabelle was the director of Pediatric Infection Control and the Co-Chief Infection Prevention Officer for UCLA Health. She obtained her medical degree at the University of Rochester and completed her Pediatrics residency at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. After residency, Dr. de St. Maurice went to Vanderbilt University where she completed a pediatric infectious disease fellowship and earned a Masters in Public Health. After fellowship, she joined the Epidemic Intelligence Service at the CDC where she studied the epidemiology of viral hemorrhagic fevers. Her research and clinical interests are focused on mitigating the spread and severity of infectious diseases through vaccines and infection control practices in healthcare and community settings. She has studied the impact of pneumococcal vaccine on invasive pneumococcal disease rates, risk factors for hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, epidemiology of Rift Valley fever disease, and sequelae of Ebola disease in survivors.
