Dr. Jeff Chen is the Director of the UCLA Cannabis Research Initiative in the Jane and Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior.  Dr. Jeff Chen is a graduate of the specialized dual degree MD/MBA program at UCLA.  He has spent the past four years working at the intersection of academia, industry, nonprofit sector and government to accelerate research into the health effects of cannabis.  Dr. Chen has spoken on the topic of cannabis at venues ranging from the RAND Corporation and Senator Feinstein’s Office to the Yale School of Management and Nexus.  His work has been covered by outlets ranging from the Wall Street Journal to Rolling Stone.  Dr. Chen is a David Geffen Fellowship recipient, Anderson Fellowship Recipient, UCLA Wolfen Entrepreneurial Award Recipient, U.S. patent holder, and a published author in cancer research.  He is a member of the Helena Group and a World Economic Forum "Globalshaper".  He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University where he studied Biology, Business, and Music.
