The role of Pink1/Parkin in the intestinal epithelium

About

Brief Summary

The purpose of this study is to compare gut biopsies taken from Parkinson’s Disease (PD) patients with and without mutations in PINK1 and PRKN and healthy adults to find the differences in gut leakiness, gut inflammation and gut oxidative stress. We are hoping to improve our understanding of the role of the gut in PD, which may lead to new diagnostic tests and improved treatment.
