March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month. UCLA Health is excited to launch its annual awareness campaign in March of 2019.
Colon cancer is the third most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer death in both men and women in the United States. Healthy People 2020 and the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable are just two of many national initiatives to improve colon cancer screening rates and have set ambitious goals to increase national colon cancer screening rates.
Currently, 1 in 3 Americans needs to be screened!
At UCLA Health, we are up for the challenge and excited about kicking off our first annual Colon Cancer Awareness Month Campaign! Through the campaign, we are making every effort to increase awareness about colon cancer risk and screening among UCLA Health patients, providers, and employees.
