About Me
Dr. Rootman treats the entire spectrum of oculofacial plastic disorders including eyelid problems such as cancers, malpositions (turning in or turning out) and ptosis (drooping eyelids). He also specializes in scarless endoscopic tearing surgery and additionally applies these techniques for complicated orbital tumor removals. This complements his particular interest in orbital and complex skull base disease, such as thyroid orbitopathy, orbital vascular malformations and traumatic fractures. Dr. Rootman is also highly skilled in performing surgery and minimally invasive interventions for aesthetic enhancement.

Eye Cancer: Introduction
Primary eye cancer is a very rare kind of cancer that starts somewhere in or on the eye (on the surface, on the iris, or within the eye beneath the retina) or in the skin of cells around the eye (the eyelid). Because it’s so rare, it’s best for someone with eye cancer to seek treatment from someone who specializes in this field. A person can ask their healthcare provider to refer them to an eye cancer specialist.
