Global Health in The Division of Infectious Diseases

The Division of Infectious Diseases is extending the reach of our mission of advancing excellent patient care, research, and education worldwide through partnerships with academic and other institutions in low- and middle-income countries.
Faculty members of the Division of Infectious Diseases are currently treating patients, conducting collaborative research projects, and strengthening health care infrastructure in a number of countries, including China, Malawi, Peru, and South Africa. Our fellowship trainees are also actively involved in research and patient care at several of these sites. Additionally, UCLA Medicine residents are participating in a special program designed by our faculty in which they experience first-hand the challenges of delivering health care at our partner site in Malawi.
By collaborating with our global partners on providing clinical care, building the capacity of local health care professionals to provide high-quality services, and conducting cutting-edge research, we help to develop sustainable, maximally effective strategies for improving health on the ground in countries around the world.
Individuals interested in adult Infectious Diseases Fellowship training with a global health focus can find more information at the UCLA Fellowship homepage.
