Joseph Yusin, MD

Chief of Allergy and Immunology

Dr. Joseph Yusin received his medical degree from the University of Southern California and completed his internal medicine residency at Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed fellowships in Allergy/Immunology at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and Rheumatology at UCLA. Since 2012, Dr. Yusin has been actively involved in residency training, serving as the Training Program Director for the Allergy/Immunology Fellowship at UCLA/VA Greater Los Angeles. Additionally, he has contributed significantly to the Residency Review Committee for Allergy/Immunology in the ACGME, including serving as Chair.

Throughout his career, Dr. Yusin has made significant contributions to research and education. He has been the recipient of research grants and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in medical journals. His research interests focus on areas such as allergic rhinitis, asthma, medication allergy and vaccines.   As an educator, he has delivered a wide range of lectures and presentations at local and national and conferences, and he actively mentors medical students, residents, and fellows. Dr. Yusin's dedication to advancing medical knowledge and education is reflected in his involvement with various professional organizations and advisory committees. In addition to serving as Chief of the Division of Allergy Immunology at VA Greater Los Angeles, he serves as National Program Director for Allergy/Immunology at VA Central Office.
