Wenjuan Zhang, PhD
Clinical Instructor, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
About
Dr. Wenjuan Zhang earned her PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Georgia and completed postdoctoral training at UCLA, where she contributed to the discovery of novel genes and variants associated with skeletal dysplasias. She subsequently served as an Assistant Professor at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she led the development and implementation of clinical bioinformatics pipelines for germline and somatic next-generation sequencing (NGS) testing in the Molecular Pathology Laboratory, as well as research that led to the identification of the SARS-CoV-2 Epsilon variant. Her clinical and research interests focus on translational and precision genomics, integration of molecular and cytogenetic approaches, and implementation of emerging genomic technologies in laboratory diagnostics.
