At the same time, he received his Master of Science degree in clinical research in the Specialty Training and Advanced Research (STAR) program, exploring the impact on cardiovascular disorders on survival after liver transplantation. He competed his clinical training with a fellowship in interventional cardiology at UCLA. He earlier earned his undergraduate degree in engineering from Cornell University in New York.
