This was my first visit with Dr. Berkowitz. I was referred by my PCP for anemia and elevated WBC.
Dr. Berkowitz was very impressive. His explanations were clear and complete and he was entirely open about possible diagnoses and treatments. He listened carefully and was respectful and appreciative of my information. He is clearly a brilliant specialist and I'm very grateful to have been referred to him and to be able to count on him for diagnosing and treating this disorder. The Doctor working as his Fellow was also most impressive, knowledgable, clear, kind and respectful.

Today I understood that my doctor thinks about me outside of my appointments, that he has taken time to study my scans and data and drawn conclusions about treatment effectiveness before he sees me. Today he reviewed results with me, all of it gathered together on the computer screen. He listened to my concerns, and answered my questions. I learned more about how to evaluate a scan/scan report, which served to lessen my anxiety. Dr Berk outlined next-step options for me, asked me to consider them, was ready with a plan. I gained greater confidence in my doctor and myself, and a sense of well-being that, I admit, had been lagging this morning, and so vital to my QOL!
