“My talk today is titled ‘Weeding Out Fact From Fiction’,” tells Jennifer Tsui, a clinical pharmacist at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, during her presentation at the Solid Organ Transplant Symposium. “I’m discussing cannabis use in the pre and post-transplant patient population. Cannabis is becoming more of a hot topic due to the rapid pace at which the laws are changing. Currently, the DEA deems it illegal but recreational marijuana is legalized in many states so there is a big conflict. I hope to address that in my lecture as I see more and more patients asking me about cannabis and its potential use in the post-transplant side. We want to make sure that our patients have the best outcomes and provide them with the best standard of care.”
