What’s the deadline?
- Open Enrollment runs nationally from Nov. 1, 2026 – Jan. 15, 2027. (You must enroll by Dec. 15 for coverage that starts on Jan. 1, 2027. Jan. 15 is the final deadline for coverage starting Feb. 1, 2027.)
- Medicare Open Enrollment runs from Oct. 15, 2026 – Dec. 7, 2026
- Covered California Open Enrollment runs from Nov. 1, 2026 – Jan. 31, 2027
- Employer-Sponsored Insurance: If you get insurance through your employer, check with HR for open enrollment dates. Many start around Nov. 1, but timing can vary.
If you miss the deadline, you can only make a switch if you go through a “qualifying event,” such as changing jobs, getting married or having a baby.
