About

Dr. Airie Kim is a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician and Associate Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. As a physician scientist, Dr. Kim investigates the roles of iron in the development of lung pathologies, including pulmonary hypertension, acute lung injury, pulmonary fibrosis, infectious pneumonias, and smoking-related lung disease.

Dr. Kim received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Boston University. She came to UCLA Medical Center for her Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship training, where she also obtained a doctorate in Cellular and Molecular Pathology.
