About

Brianna Ortbals, MSN, CRNA is a Nurse Anesthetist and an integral member of the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine team. Ms. Ortbals joined the team in June 2020. Ms. Ortbals provides anesthesia at 5 different UCLA surgery centers, contributing to her vast experience administering a wide range of anesthetics to a diverse UCLA patient population. Ms. Ortbals personally prides herself on providing a safe anesthetic with a focus on pain management and post-operative nausea prevention. Ms. Ortbals is quickly expanding into more leadership roles within the UCLA nurse anesthesia team.

Ms. Ortbals has been grateful to participate in a surgical mission trip with Health Talents International in Guatemala during the Fall of 2019. Ms. Ortbals was an integral member of the anesthesia team providing general anesthesia, neuraxial anesthesia, moderate anesthesia care, and peripheral nerve blocks to the Guatemalan people in need. Ms. Ortbals hopes to do more medical mission trips in the future.
