About

Dr. Bui is a pediatric cardiologist and a palliative care physician at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. As a pediatric cardiologist, she provides comprehensive, patient- and family-centered pediatric cardiology care, with an interest in preventive cardiology. As a palliative care physician for adults, Dr. Bui provides palliative care to all adults with serious illness, with a particular interest in adults with congenital and acquired heart disease. Dr. Bui leads the Cardiac Palliative Care Clinic at UCLA.

Dr. Bui's research interests lie in improving quality of life and resilience in patients with congenital and acquired heart disease. Specifically, she seeks to expand access to palliative care in patients with advanced heart disease and explore the impact of palliative care on quality of life and clinical outcomes. She is also interested in the application of artificial intelligence to prognostication, particularly for patients with complex congenital heart disease.

Dr. Bui joined the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine faculty in 2023. Prior to this, she completed an advanced fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at UCLA. Prior to that, she completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University in 2022. She completed a combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in 2019. She earned her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 2015 and an undergraduate degree in Biology from Yale University in 2010. Outside of medicine, Dr. Bui enjoys hiking, cooking, and exploring Los Angeles.
