About
Dr. Patel is a Southern California native, and attended USC for her undergraduate, medical school, and residency training. She was accepted into USC’s Baccalaureate/MD program, and pursued a double major in Narrative Studies and Biological Sciences. During her undergraduate, she discovered her passion for medicine through working in clinics in rural Honduras and later creating a medical clinic at an orphanage in Kenya. Her work abroad continued during medical school, where she also served as class president and graduated with distinction. She completed a dual residency in combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at LAC+USC Medical Center and realized her passion for Endocrinology.
Dr. Patel completed a fellowship in adult Endocrinology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was trained by world-renowned experts in the field. In fellowship, she became adept at caring for all aspects of Endocrinology including pituitary, thyroid disease, adrenal disease, advanced diabetes, obesity, and osteoporosis. She was recognized for her commitment to providing outstanding patient care through receiving multiple patient care awards during fellowship. In addition to managing general Endocrinology, her triple training in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and adult Endocrinology has given her a unique skill set to care for older adolescents with chronic Endocrinology diseases as they age into adulthood.
Dr. Patel loves the longitudinal relationships with patients that Endocrinology provides, and treats patients as she would like to be treated. She has a holistic approach to medicine, recognizing that each patient is unique. She enjoys working with people to optimize their health and quality of life.
Outside of work, Dr. Patel enjoys hiking, boxing, running, and traveling the world with her husband and friends.
