HS Clinical Professor of Urology. John Jergens Chair in Kidney Transplantation. Dr. Gritsch trained at UCLA and Harvard and specializes in the urologic care of patients with renal failure. He is the Surgical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program which has maintained 3-year graft survival rates which are excellent for over 25 years (Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients - SRTR). The program is in the top five for transplant volume and is also the largest living donor exchange program in the nation. He has expertise in the transplantation of adult and pediatric patients with complex urinary reconstruction. His research interest is in the development of new ways to facilitate rapid recovery from renal transplant and kidney donation operations.
