About
Dr. Hayley Cleveland is an infectious diseases physician practicing at UCLA Health in San Luis Obispo. She is board certified in both internal medicine and infectious diseases. Dr. Cleveland focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic infections.
Originally from Colorado, Dr. Cleveland received her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she received the residency teaching award. She then continued at UCSF to complete her fellowship in infectious diseases. During her fellowship, she served as chief fellow and underwent specialized training pertaining to infections in immunocompromised patients, including those with solid organ transplants or bone marrow transplants. She attended Marquette University for her undergraduate studies.
Prior to joining UCLA Health in 2025, she was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCSF in the Division of Infectious Diseases, where she provided clinical care to patients, conducted clinical research on infections in immunocompromised individuals, and taught medical trainees. She has presented her research findings at both national and international conferences.
She is excited to care for patients on the Central Coast. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Cleveland is a wife and a mother, and enjoys spending time with her family exploring California’s beautiful beaches and hiking trails.
Dr. Cleveland is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) and the American Society of Transplantation (AST).
