About

Jerry Markar, MD, is double board-certified in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology and graduated summa cum laude. He earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where he was also awarded lifelong membership to the highly prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. Following medical school, he returned to UCLA to complete residency training in Anesthesiology. While in residency, he was selected for and completed subspecialty training in the highly competitive field of Pain Medicine at UCLA. Following his training, he is continuing his career as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA.

Dr. Markar specializes in the non-operative, minimally invasive, treatment of chronic pain. He has expertise in treating all chronic pain conditions, especially of the spine and large joints. His goal is to help people improve their quality of life through multimodal pain management.

Dr. Markar grew up in Los Angeles and is now raising his own family in the city. He is committed to the community and plans to have a long career helping patients manage their pain and improve their quality of life. When not working, he is an avid Los Angeles sports fan. He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, especially playing and watching sports with his three boys!
