About
Dr. Juan José Andino is a urologist who specializes in the evaluation and management of Men’s health, sexual medicine, and male infertility. He is fellowship-trained and completed his fellowship and sub-specialty training in Male Reproductive Medicine & Surgery at UCLA. He is devoted to treating patients who are dealing with male (in)fertility, erectile dysfunction after failing medications, penile curvature or Peyronie’s disease, and fertility preservation for men before cancer or gender affirming treatments. His surgical practice is focused on optimizing sexual and reproductive function including penile implants (inflatable and malleable), surgery to correct penile curvature, varicocele repair, and microsurgery for sperm retrievals or vasectomy reversal. He also specializes in clinic procedures including Xiaflex (Collagenase clostridium histolyticum) injections for Peyronie’s disease, penile injection teaching for men with advanced erectile dysfunction, and penile doppler ultrasound evaluation for men with advanced conditions that require surgical treatment.
Beyond his clinical interests, Dr. Andino has developed his academic career by studying and advocating for telehealth as an option to improve convenience and access to care for patients. He has held regional and national committee positions focused on telehealth, health policy, and broader efforts to help ensure that urologic research is used to benefit urologic patients. At UCLA Health, Dr. Andino is one of four inaugural Bruin Scholars who have been awarded funding for mentorship and research aimed at promoting the health system’s commitment to continued improvement of Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This includes a dual-appointment with Martin Luther King Jr Community Healthcare, where Dr. Andino will be building a Men’s health program to ensure patients in south LA have equal access to specialty care for sexual and reproductive health.
