Koyelle Papneja, MD is a Pediatric Cardiologist specializing in pediatric and fetal echocardiography. She has served on the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine faculty since 2021. She is the director of the Inpatient Pediatric Cardiology Service at UCLA. She is also the program director of the UCLA Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship. Dr. Papneja's clinical interests lie in fetal echocardiography, prenatal management of congenital heart disease, and single ventricle defects. Her research interest is in the trajectory of left ventricular remodeling in children who have undergone balloon aortic valvuloplasty for aortic valve stenosis. She seeks to explore the relationship between left ventricular remodeling and timing of reintervention, and develop decision tools for this population.
Dr. Papneja joined the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine faculty in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology in 2021. Prior to this, she served on the Stanford University School of Medicine faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. She completed her advanced fellowship in pediatric echocardiography at Stanford University in 2020. Prior to that, she completed her fellowship in pediatric cardiology at The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto in 2019. She completed her pediatrics residency at McMaster Children's Hospital, McMaster University in 2016. Dr. Papneja earned her medical degree from the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University in 2013.
