Maya C. Ayoub, MD

Dr. Maya Ayoub, MD, EdM is an Assistant Professor in Child Neurology and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities at UCLA Children's Hospital. She is also faculty at the UCLA Tarjan UCEDD Center and for the Disability Studies Department at UCLA, where she teaches a course on community engaged learning in autism and neurodiversity. Dr. Ayoub completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at Harvard University, and her medical degree at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. During her medical training, she pursued a fellowship in Medical Education at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, and conducted her training in Pediatrics, Neurology, and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities at UCLA Health. Her clinical work and research focuses on supporting communication in children with neurogenetic conditions and neurodevelopmental disabilities. Outside of the hospital, her hobbies include watercolor painting, bike riding, and exploring coffee shops. She enjoys spending time with her large extended family in Southern California.
