About

Dr. Michael Robinson is a board certified surgeon with the American Board of Surgery. He specializes in a wide range of general surgery, including hernia repair, appendiceal and gallbladder surgeries, anti-reflux surgery, and colon and intestinal surgery, among others. Dr. Robinson performs operations primarily at Providence Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, CA and Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Santa Clarita, CA. He also performs operations occasionally at Santa Monica UCLA.

Dr. Robinson prioritizes a minimally invasive approach, which includes employing the Da Vinci robot when indicated. His primary aim is to provide excellent patient care utilizing a patient-centered approach. He listens to his patients and makes a calculated decision only after hearing their story.

Dr. Robinson earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and received his medical degree from UC Davis. He completed his General Surgery residency at UCLA, and went on to complete his fellowship in Minimally Invasive General and Bariatric Surgery at Scripps Health. He is an active member of the Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the Society of Black Academic Surgeons, the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.  He is also committed to education, frequently volunteering for teaching and mentorship opportunities.

In his spare time, Dr. Robinson is an avid sports fan who can be seen cheering on the Lakers, Chargers and Dodgers.
