Dr. Michael Shye is a general nephrologist who practices in Burbank. His research interests include vitamin D deficiency in kidney transplant recipients, obesity in kidney transplant candidates, and idiopathic membranous nephropathy. He is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology, and in addition to his outpatient practice, can see patients at Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, Valley Presbyterian Hospital and Northridge Hospital Medical Center.

Dr. Shye earned his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York before returning to his home state for nephrology training at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where he served as Chief Nephrology Fellow.
