Dr. Michael G. Wetter is the Director of Psychological Services, Nourish for Life and MSP (Medical Stabilization Program) at UCLA-SMH. Dr. Wetter is the award winning author of Earn It: What to do when your kid needs an entitlement intervention and What Went Right: Reframe your thinking for a happier now. He earned his M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University and received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. He completed his predoctoral internship at Chicago-Read Psychiatric Hospital and his postdoctoral fellowship in adult and adolescent psychology at Kaiser Permanente in Northern California.
Dr. Wetter has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in psychopathology, abnormal psychology, and treatment methodology at academic institutions such as the University of California, Pepperdine University, and California State University. He is an active member of the American Psychological Association, American Academy of Psychologists, the National Alliance of Psychology Providers, and the California Psychological Association. Dr. Wetter is trained in Family Based Therapy (FBT), and has given numerous lectures, nationally and internationally, on DBT, obesity and eating disorders, the impact of social media on children and adolescents, and other related topics.
