Rishi K. Trivedi, MD, PhD

Dr. Trivedi is an interventional cardiologist with UCLA Health based at the West Valley Specialty Care Clinic and performing procedures throughout the UCLA Health system including UCLA West Valley Medical Center, UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center.

Dr. Trivedi completed a combined MD/PhD program at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans with advanced training in cardiovascular pharmacology. He completed internal medicine residency through the Osler Medical Training Program at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He then completed fellowship training in general cardiology and interventional cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. Trivedi maintains a broad interventional cardiology practice spanning coronary artery interventions, structural heart interventions, and procedural management of cardiogenic shock. He has special interest in complex and high-risk percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), including the use of intravascular imaging (IVUS/OCT), coronary physiology testing, atherectomy, and the use of temporary mechanical circulatory support.  He also has a special interest in the management of cardiogenic shock and end-stage heart failure including the development of novel devices for advanced heart failure care. His structural heart interests include transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), left atrial appendage occlusion (Watchman), and minimally invasive transcatheter repair of the mitral and tricuspid valves.

In addition to clinical care, Dr. Trivedi is dedicated to medical education and has received multiple teaching awards. He is also an active researcher and innovator, with an extensive record of peer-reviewed publications. He is active in multiple professional societies and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).
