About
Dr. Ryan Uyan is an internal medicine physician and geriatrician who provides primary care, memory care, and geriatric consultative services to elderly adults in the UCLA Westwood medical offices and at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. He is an expert in providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care to elderly patients with common health concerns such as frailty, urinary incontinence, cognitive decline, falls and polypharmacy. He focuses on disease prevention, conserving function, and managing both acute and chronic conditions, while prioritizing his patient’s values and quality of life in advance care planning. He is interested in working with vulnerable and underserved populations.
Dr. Uyan received his medical degree from St. George’s School of Medicine in Grenada. He then completed his internal medicine residency at Medstar Georgetown University-Washington Hospital Center, and his fellowship in geriatric medicine at UCLA. He is board certified in internal medicine, and is a member of the American Geriatric Society and the American College of Physicians.
Outside of work, Dr. Uyan enjoys spending time with his wife, family, dog, and friends. He likes to explore Los Angeles and find new restaurant and adventurous hiking trails, and visit museums.
