Dr. S. Ariane Christie is an Assistant Professor in Residence in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

She received her medical degree from John Hopkins School of Medicine, completed General Surgery residency at University of California San Francisco and Trauma, Acute Care Surgery and Surgical Critical Care fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. 

Dr. Christie is an academic surgeon with a research focus on trauma systems development in resource-constrained environments. Since 2015, she has worked with Drs. Rochelle Dicker and Catherine Juillard in developing and implementing durable trauma surveillance and quality improvement infrastructure in low and middle-income countries. In particular, her work focuses on the development and validation of novel applications of technology to facilitate building scalable, context-appropriate, and evidenced-based care delivery systems and research infrastructure in sub-Saharan Africa.
