Dr. Shannon Bell is a Palliative Care physician providing inpatient care at both Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center.
Dr. Bell graduated from Western University of Health Sciences with her D.O. degree and spent an additional year completing a pre-doctoral teaching fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. She then went on to complete a Family Medicine residency at Long Beach Memorial where she spent her time serving as chief resident, providing OMM to her clinic patients, mentoring pre-med underserved college students and establishing a wellness cirriculum for residents. Dr. Bell spent a year working in family medicine and ultimately went on to complete a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at UCSD / Scripps Health.
Dr. Bell specializes in providing patient-centered, whole-person compassionate care for folks and their family's coping with serious illnesses. As a palliative care provider she manages complex symptoms, helps patients with advance care planning, coordinates complex patient care between teams and prioritizes kind and empathetic communication with those she cares for.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Bell enjoys spending time with her elderly dog, 2 young children, husband and family. She enjoys meditation, experimenting in the kitchen and being in nature as much as possible.
