About
Dr. Sophie Carlson is a hematologist/oncologist and Clinical Instructor in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at UCLA, seeing patients in Westwood, Santa Monica, and Torrance cancer centers. She treats patients with all types of cancers and blood disorders, with a particular interest in plasma cell dyscrasias - MGUS, Smoldering Myeloma, and Multiple Myeloma.
Dr. Carlson received her undergraduate degree in Biology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, graduating with distinction, and a medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University. She completed her internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at UCLA.
Dr. Carlson is a member of the American Society of Hematology, International Myeloma Society, and American Association for Cancer Research. Her research is focused on patient outcomes with cellular therapies, and has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences and authored publications in leading peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Carlson is a Los Angeles native and is happy to be serving the community she grew up in. In her free time she loves to spend time with friends and family, and hike in the mountains.
