Soraya Azzawi is a board-certified dermatologist practicing at the UCLA Health clinics in Santa Monica and Redondo Beach, as well as consulting for the inpatient dermatology services at the Ronald Reagan and Santa Monica Medical Center hospitals. She specializes in cutaneous oncology, complex medical dermatology and dermatologic surgery.
Dr. Azzawi received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She then completed residency training at the University of Miami Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery, where she served as the Chief Resident of Quality Improvement and received the George Ioannides Resident Teaching Award.
Her work has been published in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals such as Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, Skin Appendage Disorders and Nature Neuroscience. Dr. Azzawi has also lectured at premier national and regional meetings, including the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, CalDerm and Winter Clinical.
As a proud southern California native, Dr. Azzawi enjoys spending time with her family in the great outdoors, especially hiking, skiing and scuba-diving.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for Dr. Soraya Azzawi at UCLA Health Redondo Beach. I have been battling a severe skin rash and eczema for the last six years, and after previously seeing two other dermatologists within the UCLA Health system, Dr. Azzawi stands completely out from the rest. She is a true doctor in every sense of the word. From the moment my daytime office visit began, she listened to my complex dermatologic history with incredible patience and compassion. Unlike others, she wasted no time and immediately started the treatment process. Right there during the visit, she took biopsy samples to get to the root of the problem, and she is already proactively working on the insurance correspondence required for the removal of two cysts. It is absolutely true that a genuinely caring doctor can make a massive difference in a patient's quality of life, and Dr. Azzawi is exactly that kind of doctor. Her exceptional clinical skills, combined with her outstanding bedside manner, have given me hope after years of frustration. Dr. Azzawi was such a pleasure! She not only explained everything to me so I could understand, she had a great sense of humor that put me totally at ease. The appointment started on time and did not take a long time as she got right to work and took care of my issues quickly. I enjoyed the staff members as well.
