Clinical Instructor
Research Interests:
Prostate cancer; African American men and prostate cancer; Ambient Air pollutant and prostate cancer specific mortality

Bio

Dr. Shodiya’s research interests focus on understanding the biologic, environmental and structural determinants underlying prostate cancer outcome differences, particularly among African American men. Prostate cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed malignancy and the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality in African American men, who experience disproportionately higher rates of aggressive disease, metastatic progression and mortality compared with other racial and ethnic groups. His work seeks to investigate how environmental exposures and social determinants of health contribute to these differences and influence prostate cancer outcomes across diverse populations.
